A Food Pantry is a parish and community service that helps neighbors who are hungry or struggling to afford essentials—especially food for the week—as an expression of Christian charity. Care for the poor is a branch of charity rooted in the love of God, and in the Church’s understanding it is a duty of all members of the Christian body—carried out through both private generosity and systematic cooperation.
