Kathy Smith
Director of Human Concerns/Outreach Ministries
The Director works with the MPH parish community and community at-large, together with the advice and assistance of the MPH Human Concerns Committee. Responding to our Baptismal call to share in the mission of Jesus Christ, the goal and heart of this ministry is to empower our parish to develop a passion and thirst for justice based on Catholic Social Teaching. This is accomplished by increasing parishioners’ awareness of the needs of those in difficult or compromised situations through prayer, education, and direct service. Our MPH Bethany Ministry Center houses many of the parish outreach activities. The responsibility of the Director is to direct and/or act as a liaison to these activities, and additionally act as the liaison to the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and several community non-profit organizations.
The current Director has volunteered in Social Justice pursuits since high school, firmly supported and enriched through educational experiences at Marquette, St. Francis Seminary, Cardinal Stritch and others. She began at Immaculate Heart of Mary in 2009, remained through the merger in 2018 and continues at MPH to this day.
