A Holy Hour with the Divine Mercy Chaplet is a prayer period of reparation and mercy, centered on Jesus present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, offered as an hour of consolation to Him and intercession for the world.
The Church teaches that the “Holy Hour” is a traditional exercise of expiation/reparation, in which believers keep prayer “prolonged for a whole hour,” as St. Margaret Mary describes Jesus’ request for a devotion of this length. In this same spirit, the “hour” of Jesus is also understood as the hour of redemption—the mystery of His Cross and glorification—so the Holy Hour draws us into that saving “hour” of Christ.
